Q:
Why can your prices be so low?
A: We can offer such
low prices because we do not run expensive high street shops and
we keep our running costs to a minimum.
Q:
Am I getting comparable quality glasses?
A: We offer many of
the same frames that are on offer on the high street, just at vastly
reduced prices!
Q:
What do I need to place an order?
A: Ordering is very
easy, but you will need a valid prescription that has been issued
within the last two years. If you do not have a current prescription,
please go for an eye test (free in certain large supermarkets!)
and ensure that the optician gives you a copy. You must then decline
their kind offer to buy expensive frames as you are under no obligation
to buy from them. Simply then key this information into our online
ordering system.
Q:
My optician has tried to discourage me from
buying online, why is this?
A:
The frames and the lenses fitted to your prescription are cut,
assembled and checked by qualified staff, and undergo the
same process in exactly the same way as if you ordered from
your optician. There are however some more complex prescriptions
that we would not fulfil, varifocals for example. Please
see below.
Q:
How quickly will I get my glasses?
A:
We will endeavor to get your glasses back to you within 7 days.
However some tints and coatings may increase the processing time
by a few days.
Q:
What if I am not satisfied with my purchase?
A:
Please return the glasses to us within 14 days of receipt stating
what is wrong with them. We will return your money or change the
glasses if you would prefer should their be a problem with the product
we have supplied you. We offer a no quibble guarantee on anything
that is the fault of ourselves, our optical laboratory or any of
our suppliers. So why not give us a try?
Q:
That’s great but can I try before I
buy?
A:
We do offer a trial service. We will send you up to 5 frames free
of charge to try at home. All you have to pay is the £2.50
postage which includes the return postage costs and packaging.
Q:
How can I be sure that the glasses that you
send me are fitted correctly to my prescription?
A:
All the glasses are checked against the prescription that you provided
us with before despatch.
Q:
Is my online payment secure?
A:
Yes, absolutely. We guarantee it. We use state of the art 128 bit
encryption at source so that none of the information that you send
us can be deciphered by any one but us. So you can shop with us
with confidence.
Q:
Can you explain Pupillary Distance (PD)?
A:
This is the distance between the center of your pupils. The measurement
helps us to correctly position the lens within the frame. We
recommend that you ask your optician to write this measurement
on your prescription. If however you do not have this measurement,
we will fill the order using an average Pupillary Distance
of 63mm for a man and 60 for a woman
Q:
Do you offer tints, UV protection or scratch
resistance?
A:
Yes, please just tick the appropriate box on the
order form.
Q:
Do you offer bifocals and varifocals?
A:
Yes we do. We have always done Bifocals and have now developed
a very accurate system for supplying customers with Varifocal
glasses from a staggering £74.95 including a very good quality
varifocal lens. If you are used to a particular make of lens
(e.g Varilux comfort), we can also supply these at extra cost.

Q:
Can you explain some of the measurements?
A:
Yes, you will see these (possibly using a magnifying glass) on
the arm of any current pair of glasses that you have. It will
look something like this: 53[]14 143:- 53 is the lens diameter,
14 is the bridge width and 143 is the arm length.
The
lens diameter is the width across the widest part of the lens
in millimeters
The bridge width is the width across the nose bridge
The arm width is the length of the arms of the frames.
If you currently have a pair of glasses
that are a comfortable fit, then read the numbers from
the arm and choose a frame from our selection with the dimensions
that closely match the
ones that you have. You can then be confident that the glasses
that you order will fit nicely!
Q:
Can I get my new glasses adjusted?
A:
If your new glasses need adjustment, just pop in to your local
opticians who should be happy to adjust them for you free of charge
or if not, for a nominal fee.
