Using our mirror to order Varifocals:
Using our Virtual Mirror for fitting yourself for Varifocal glasses is easy.
Please ensure that the image file type you use is a jpeg image and the file
name contains no spaces (File size between 150K and 600K is best). For the
purposes of using the mirror for fitting for Varifocals we recommend using
a digital camera photo rather than your web cam as this tends to give a clearer,
brighter and sharper image. Please follow these steps:
If you prefer, you can just email us your photo, along with your pupillary
distance measurement to customerservices@glasses2you.co.uk and we will do
it for you!

- Choose a photograph from your PC or take a new one with your Digital
Camera ensuring that your face is square on and with your ears equally
visible on both sides. Make sure the photo is a JPEG file type. We recommend
a head and shoulders shot. (A shot like the pre-loaded model faces already
on the mirror)
- If you haven't already obtained your Pupillary Distance from your Optician,
you can either arrange to have this done by them or you can take your own
using any one of the methods described in our 'How
to measure your PD'
document.
- Press the 'Upload' button and locate your desired photo from your computer
- Place the pupil finders over the eyes. (You don't have to be super accurate
at this point) - Press 'Continue'
- With the photo enlarged carefully place the pupil finders in the center
of your pupils - Press 'Continue'
- Move the Center locator to the middle of your nose bridge - Press 'Continue'
- Select your Pupillary distance from the drop down menu.
- We do recommend that you measure your own for best results.
- Hover over the orange bar under 'Choose range of glasses' and choose
the required range e.g. Fashion
- Click on a thumbnail picture of a pair of glasses you want to upload
onto the chosen face
- Click on a frame colour block to change the colour of the frame
- Click on a lens colour to change the colour of the lens
- Click on the drop down menu that appears to change the density of the
tint
- Our mirror also very cleverly works out the distance
from your pupils to the bottom of a frame for Varifocal purposes. Once
you are happy with a frame just press the 'Varifocal Measurement' button
and another screen appears.
You can then move the frames up or down until you feel
they are exactly where you would like them to sit on your face. The mirror
calculates the necessary distance. Once you have done this, press 'Continue'
and you are returned to the main mirror. You must then take a 'Snapshot'
and save the resulting postcard to your hard drive. To do this, follow
the instructions below.
- Click the 'Snapshot' button to take a picture of you wearing the glasses.
You can store up to 8 pictures at any one time.
- Clicking on a thumbnail will reload that image into the viewfinder
- Clicking on the 'more details' button will take you to that frames ordering
page where you can proceed to purchase your glasses if you wish
- Clicking on 'SAVE' under the thumbnail allows you to save the photo as
a postcard to your desktop or email it to a friend for their opinion on
whether the glasses suit you or not.
- Once you have saved your postcard to your hard drive, proceed to the
order page by clicking the 'view details' button. Continue through
the order process entering your prescription and pay for your glasses.
Finally, send an email to varifocals@glasses2you.com attaching
the generated postcard. Please include your order number to enable us
to tie up your photo to your Varifocal order.
When your glasses are dispatched, we will send you a copy of your postcard,
a tool and instructions on how to adjust the glasses so that they sit
on your face in the same position as the photograph generated by our
Virtual Mirror.
