This coating will dramatically reduce the reflections from the surface of your lenses so as to make the lens almost invisible, thus improving the appearance of your glasses and making your eyes more visible to people. It will also cut out the reflections from your own eyes this improving your vision especially when driving at night when headlights can dazzle you and will reduce the halo effect around lights. We also recommend this coating for computer use as they also come with and EMI coating. EMI stands for Electro Magnetic Interference which is designed to reduce radiation from Computer screens and other source of EMI. They have anti-static properties which also helps to keep the lenses cleaner.
It is particularly recommended on higher index lenses as these will reflect more light at people looking at you.

An Ultra violet protection coating on your lens will help to protect your eyes from the harm caused by long term exposure to the suns UV rays. This coating is clear and does not tint your lenses. Long term exposure can cause many disorders such as cataracts, macular degeneration, photokeratitis, pinguecula, and permanent retinal damage. A UV400 protective coating is particularly recommended for people who work outdoors in bright sunlight. We recommend this clear coating on all glasses as it protects your eyes from harmful UV which exists in all weather conditions.
Please not that the tint on glasses alone does not block any UV rays. This protection comes from the UV coating.
Photochromic lenses also block 100 percent of the sun's UV rays without the need for an added UV lens treatment

The thinner your lens the lighter it will be and therefore more comfortable to wear but it will also enhance the appearance of your glasses, particularly if you have a stronger prescription. We would however recommend an anti-reflective coating with a high index lens as they do reflect more light. Bifocal lenses are only available in a 1.6 index lens.

An anti-scratch coating on your lenses will increase the life of your glasses whilst reducing wear and tear on you lenses. Less scratches on your lenses means better vision and your glasses will look better.This coating will help with protecting your lenses from the light scratching that can occur with day to day wear of your glasses.

We use a standard 1.5 index CR39 plastic lens with this option.

CR39 is a very strong plastic which is widely used in the industry and this standard thickness.

It is stronger and lighter than glasses which is not commonly used.

Lens should be fine for prescriptions up to +/- 3.00 spheres tip – for best result with stronger prescription, select a smaller lens diameter when selecting a frame!
